How to Get a Season Ticket When There Is a Waiting List
At clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham, and Newcastle, season tickets are not available to new buyers. All seats are allocated to existing holders who renew each year. Waiting lists can run from 5 to 20+ years.
Join the waiting list. At Liverpool, the waiting list is free to join. At Manchester United, there is a membership fee. Check each club’s official website for the current waiting list status and how to register.
Buy a membership. Most clubs sell official memberships that give priority access to individual match tickets before general sale. At Arsenal, a Red membership gives you a queue position for home matches. At Liverpool, a Standard Member account provides ticket priority over non-members.
Attend away games. Away allocations are typically smaller (1,500-3,000 seats) but availability is better. Away tickets go to members first, usually based on points accrued from previous purchases. Check your club’s away ticket policy.
Is a Season Ticket Worth It vs Individual Match Tickets?
A Premier League season ticket covers 19 home league games. At Arsenal, the cheapest season ticket at around £891 works out to approximately £47 per game. Individual match day tickets for the same seats cost £60-100+ depending on the opponent.
The season ticket wins financially if you attend 12 or more home games per season. If you only plan to attend five or six games, individual tickets are cheaper overall. Factor in the flexibility too. A season ticket locks you into every home game. Individual tickets let you choose.
