TLDR
BBC iPlayer is the best free sports streaming service in the UK in 2026. It covers Wimbledon, Six Nations rugby, WSL football, FA Cup, UK and World Athletics, F1 highlights, and England cricket highlights. All free. You need a TV licence for live content, not for catch-up.
This is the full breakdown of every sport on BBC iPlayer in 2026, how to access it, and what device works best.
Insider Tip
During Wimbledon and major athletics events, BBC iPlayer runs multiple simultaneous streams that BBC One and BBC Two cannot show. During Wimbledon’s first week, open BBC iPlayer and look under “Live” to find 6-12 active court feeds running at the same time. Pick the match you want rather than whatever the main channel has chosen.
